O sexto mês (The 6th month)

Papai comprou uma câmera nova só pra tirar fotos da Laurinha. Aos poucos ele está aprendendo a mexer em todas as funções e está virando craque! Aproveitamos um dia lindo de sol em Boston e saímos pela cidade pra tirar fotos da barriga aos 6 meses.

Daddy got a new camera just to take pictures of Laurinha. He's been learning how to manage all the different features and is becoming an expert! We took advantage of this beautiful sunny day in Boston  to walk around the city and take some photographs of my 6 months pregnant belly.

A barriga até os 5 meses (The belly until the 5th month)

No início só eu mesma notava a "barriga de grávida"... e ficava brava quando falavam que eu ainda não tinha barriga nenhuma, rsrs. Aqui com 3 meses de gestação:

In the beginning I was the only one to notice my "pregnant belly"... and even used to get angry when told I didn't have any belly at all, lol. Here in the 3rd month:

Depois, aos 4 meses, já dava pra notar a barriguinha, apesar de alguns ainda insistirem que não dava pra notar nada... Como dizia minha amiga Evi, "só parece que você comeu muito!". Rsrsrs

Later on, in the 4th month, the little belly was noticeable, although some would insist there was nothing there... As my dear friend Evi used to say, "it only seems that you had a big brunch!". Lol

Finalmente, aos 5 meses, a barriguinha se tornou fato e eu a exibia cheia de orgulho!

Finally, in the 5th month, the belly was undoubtedly there and I proudly showed it off!

Ainda nessa fase, Laurinha viajou para o Brasil especialmente para o casamento dos primos Sara & Adrian. Foi a primeira vez que os amigos e familiares a conheceram dentro da barriga :)

At that stage, Laurinha traveled all the way to Brazil specially to attend cousins Sara & Adrian's wedding. It was the first time our families and friends over there got to meet her while in the belly :)

Já estamos com saudades de todos aí no Brasil :))))

Laurinha crescendo... (Laurinha growing up...)

Essa é a foto da primeira ultrassonografia (USG) da Laura. Ela ainda era muito pequenininha, estava com aproximadamente 8 semanas e media 0,3 cm. Pra quem, como eu, tem dificuldade em "ler" uma USG, a Laurinha é essa "bolinha" marcada pela médica :)

This is Laura's first ultrasound scan picture (USG). She was still very tiny, 8 weeks and 0,3 cm (0.12") of length. For those who, like me, have a hard time "reading" an scan, Laurinha is this "little circle" highlighted by the doctor :)

Na USG seguinte, então com 12 semanas e medindo quase 6 cm, já dava pra ver o rostinho dela... Mas ainda não sabíamos se seria a Laura ou o Lucas...

In the 12-week USG, she was 6 cm of length, and it was already possible to see her little face... But we still didn't know if it would be Laura or Lucas...

E então, com 18 semanas, chegou o tão esperado dia em que saberíamos o sexo do bebê! Apesar de querermos igualmente um menininho ou uma menininha (só desejamos que venha com saúde!), a curiosidade era grande, estávamos super ansiosos! A emoção foi muito grande quando a médica nos deu a notícia: "it's a beautiful baby girl!". Realmente, ela era linda e sapeca, não parou de se mexer nem um minuto durante o ultrasom... Fabi comentou: "nossa, essa menina vai ser uma ginasta!" :)... Aqui ela já estava com quase 14 cm.

Then, in the 18th week, the so expected day in which we would find out the baby's gender had come! Although we both wished for either a boy or a girl (all we wanted was a healthy baby!), the curiosity was huge, we were super excited! We're so thrilled when the doctor said: "it's a beautiful baby girl!". Indeed, she was beautiful and active, didn't stop moving during the whole exam... Fabi said: "wow, this girl will be into gymnastics!" :)... Here she was almost 14 cm. 

Na USG seguinte, com quase 24 semanas, mais uma vez a nossa bebê nos trouxe muitas alegrias!!! Ela estava crescendo forte e saudável, pesando aproximadamente 500g e medindo quase 30 cm. A medida que vai crescendo, o rostinho vai ficando mais nítido. Nessa foto de perfil, algumas pessoas já apostaram que ela será a cara do papai, rsrsrs...

In the following USG (24 weeks), again our baby fulfilled us with lots of joy!!! She was growing strong and healthy, with 500g of weight and close to 30 cm of length. As she grows bigger, the image of her little face becomes more clear. Looking at this profile picture, some would already bet she will look just like her daddy, lol.

Semana que vem será a próxima USG da Laurinha. Ela estará com quase 27 semanas. Estamos contando os dias, é bom demais ver o rostinho da nossa filhota! Aguardem a próxima foto ♥ 


Laurinha's next USG will be next week. We will be in the 27th week. We are counting down the days, it's just so amazing to be able to see our daughter's face! Next picture coming up  ♥ 

Como tudo começou... (How it all began...)

Papai e mamãe nasceram e cresceram em Cachoeiro/ES, Brasil. Olha aí os dois se aventurando em suas motocas :)

Daddy and mommy were born and raised in Cachoeiro/ES, Brazil. Take a look at them riding their motorcycles :)

Se conheceram na escola, em 1995, mas só foram namorar alguns anos mais tarde, em 2004, quando ambos terminavam a faculdade na UFES, em Vitória/ES. Essa é uma foto da época em que eram namorados...

They met in high school, in 1995, but started dating a few years later, in 2004, when both were finishing up Law and Medical Schools at UFES, Vitoria/ES. This picture was taken when they were dating...

Se casaram há 6 anos...

Há 2 anos moram em Boston, Massachusetts, Estados Unidos, onde papai está fazendo subespecialização e doutorado em córnea.

They've been living in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, for 2 years, where daddy is doing a cornea fellowship.

Há algum tempo, já vinham pensando em ter um bebêzinho, resolveram começar a tentar em março e, um mês depois, eu, a Laura, fui concebida :)... Felicidade geral!!!!!!

They had been thinking about having a baby for some time and decided to start trying in March. One month later, I, Laura was conceived :)... Happiness!!!!!!

Papai e mamãe souberam da notícia no início de maio, com 4 semanas de gestação. Ficaram muito emocionados e felizes!!! Desde esse dia, já me amavam muito, muito, muito... Amor maior não há! ♥ 

Mommy and daddy found out about the good news in the beginning of May, at 4 weeks far along. They were very thrilled and happy!!! Since that day, they loved me so, so much... There's no greater love! ♥ 

Razão do blog (The reason of this blog)

Olá queridos amigos do Brasil e mundo afora!!! :)

Este blog foi criado especialmente pra vcs aí de longe acompanharem o último trimestre da gravidez da Laurinha. Gostaria que todos vcs estivessem pertinho para curtirem com a gente a barriga crescendo e o inesquecível dia do nascimento. Mas como estamos a milhares de Km de distância, vou postar aqui a evolução da gravidez e fotos para que vcs possam participar um pouquinho dessa fase maravilhosa em nossas vidas que é a espera do primeiro filho.

This blog was created specially to enable each one of you to keep track of the last trimester of my pregnancy with Laura. We would love to have all of you close enough to watch the fast-growing belly and the upcoming and unforgettable delivery day. Since we are thousands of miles apart, we will share here some pregnancy updates and pictures, so that, in some way, you will be able to be part of this wonderful time in our lives, which is expecting the first child.
